Black Forest Cake is a full-bodied, med/full-strength 6x52 classic toro. The wrapper is a 10-year-aged, double fermented San Andres maduro leaf. Fillers are a closely guarded secret...but all tobaccos are 6-12 years aged!
First light is a huge wave of dark chocolate chips, maple, sweet cream, and baking spices. Espresso beans, black pepper, and Madagascar vanilla immediately follow. The finish adds another layer of chocolate chips. The retrohale brings a warming cinnamon burn.
As it progresses, notes of dark brown sugar, white oak, and white buttercream frosting appear. The blend gets toastier with hints of almond, clove, and cocoa. The balance is absolute perfection!
Halfway, it gets even richer! Bold notes of milk chocolate, cappuccino, whipped cream, and aged leather emerge. Toffee, dried fruit, cardamom, and graham cracker immediately follow. It's actually hard to describe how deep the flavors are!
Last third, everything gets intense! Caramel, whiskey barrel, and nutmeg join the mix. Creamy espresso, custard, toasted almond, and Tootsie Roll (don't know how else to describe it.) The flavors continue to layer and layer over each other. Absolutely amazing!
